The campsite is situated in a small, green valley on the south side of Langholt Hill. For almost a century it has been the meeting place of the farmers in the area. In the last few decades it has become a popular campground for natives and travelers alike. All necessary facilities are found there. On Saturday nights there is a campfire.
Syðra-Langholt is situated in Southern Iceland, close to many of the most beautiful tourist attractions in the area. Close by is the famous waterfall Gullfoss and hot spring Geysir. Not too far away is the valley Thjorsardalur and the Landmannalaugar wilderness.
