The township of Tálknafjörður is a young, tidy town by the sea situated in a good shelter from the northern chill. The town lies in the innermost part of Tálknafjörður fjord. The camping site is conveniently located next to the local sport centre and pool.Season: june 1st - sept 1st
I recommend this one, it's the best one I've tried in the Westfjords (out of 20). The cooking facilities are great, very good swimmingpool on the ground and it's a great little village.
What to expect upon arrival at Keflavik airport: security screening and customs. get your luggage - carts are free! if you drink alcohol, definitely stop at the duty free store. It's much cheaper...
