Bíldudalur by Arnarfjörður is well situated, south on the West fjords. The town and the area around offers many various opportunities for outside activities. There are many beautiful hiking routes for both used hikers and also those who rather like to stroll around and enjoy the beauty of the magnificent nature. Weather conditions are extremely good in Bíldudalur and the hostel is perfectly located by the harbour where guests can watch the fishing boats sail in the fjord. In Bildudalur you also find a very interesting music museum run by Jón Kr. Ólafsson out of his home. It takes only an hour and a half to drive to Látrabjarg where the biggest bird cliffs in the world can be found. A bit further, you find Selársdalur that has a lot of interesting attractions. One of them is a selection of big sculptures by a local artist, Samúel Jónsson, who lived there for a great part of his life.
