The town is a bustling fishing and fish processing port as well as a commercial centre, with considerable farming in the neighbouring areas. Directions
Bus: All buses from Egilsstaðir, Reykjavík, and Skaftafell stop at Höfn. On request the buses drive guests to the Hostel and pick them up.

Airport: The airport is only 7 km from the Hostel and during the summer there are number of direct flights from Reykjavík and other places to Höfn every day.
