The Fossatún campsite is a centrally located, family friendly place to stay at. Many of Iceland´s most interesting and beautiful places are within a short minute radius from Fossatún. Ideal to make short trips from and to return to a beautiful location and excelent facilities.
Fossatún offers a wide variety of recreational activities such as mini golf, outdoor chess, trambolines, musical performances and much more.
A hiking trail is on Varmalækjarmúli, the local mountain and a viewing point extraordinaire. It is only 460 m. high and not to difficult. Also it is convenient and enjoyable to taka short walks by the Grimsa-river and/or to Blundsvatn-lake. Especially in the bright summer night, watching the sunset and sunrise and experiencing the choir singing of rich birdlife in the area.
