The campsite is mostly surrounded by trees so visitors can choose from camping on grass or in a tree clearing. Good rest room facilities with six toilets, sink, showers, hot and cold water, electricity and a washing machine. There are outdoor barbeques that visitors are welcome to use and a dining area.
Króklækur, a small stream, runs through the camp site.
Many nice hiking paths are in the area, for example into Hjálpleysudal which is the deepest valley in Iceland. And the view from the top of Sandfell is quite magnificent.
