Surviving Iceland

The Reykjavík Gay Pride 2009 was a huge succsess. Around 80 thousand people came down town Reykjavik for the Parade and out-door concert by Arnarhóll and a record number of floats, or 37, were in the parade this year.

Thursday 5 August

12 Noon: The official Pride Club opens
8 p.m: The famous Opening Ceremony - The University of Iceland Movie Theater
GAY PRIDE BEERBURST PARTY AT THE THEATER AFTER THE OPENING

Friday 6 August

Midnight
Girls’ Dance - venue to be decided
Boys’ Dance - venue to be decided

Saturday 7 August

Line-up of the Gay Pride Parade at Hlemmur Bus Terminal at 12:30 p.m.
THE GAY PRIDE PARADE STARTS AT 2 p.m.
The parade goes down Laugavegur to the old city center.
3:15 p.m. OUTDOOR CONCERT AT ARNARHÓLL
9 p.m. Concert - venue to be decided
Midnight Pride dances - venues to be decided
