Lobster Festival

This is the 19th annual Lobster Festival  in the town of Hofn in Hornafjordur fjord. The lobster has been promoted as the central image for Hofn town as vast amounts of quality lobster come in through the harbour both for exportation and the icelandic market. In 1993 a few innovative individuals and companies felt that the town needed its own annual festival to celebrate all that they where proud of when it came to their own town and to embrace what makes Hofn unique. This marked the birth of the Lobster Festival and ever since it has been greatly popular with locals and guest alike. Every year people from all over the country flock to Hofn to take part in the diverse activities on offer,  drink in the local spirit and off course taste some delicious langoustine :)
