
"On 12th April the Special Investigative Committee of the Parliament will release a report addressing the events and causes leading up to the banking crisis in Iceland. The report will be extensive and it is likely that the media will explain the report with conflicting viewpoints. The staff of the Reykjavík City Theatre has decided to read the document out loud in its entirety; it is approximately 2000 pages long and the staff encourages fellow citizens to listen to the reading. Artists will neither insert their opinions nor attempt to perform the reading in any particular style. The reading will commence as soon as the report is released and...." so goes the beginning of the introduction of the reality show of the Reykjavik City Theater. The report is somewhat written like a novel as the text is full of visual descriptions and dialogue between the players of the financial and political market of Iceland. In the hands of the professional actors the text will come to live and will be read for about 5 days 24/7.
It is amazing that such a report is given the freedom of coming to live for the whole nation to read. It is a big political risk as no one gets a free pass in this overall critical evaluation of the collapse of the Icelandic economy.
This will hopefully bring out the best solution for all. But the thing is that the eruption of the volcano is much less than it was before and everyone has forgotten about it. So goes the human mind drifting from one interesting thing to the other. Making live more interesting with every day.
