Surviving Iceland

The famous film director David Lynch came to Iceland this week and was greeted in the Airport by Sigurjon Sighvatsson the Icelandic Hollywood film producer. They have a long history together but it all began with the famous and weird TV series Twin Peaks. Weird stuff that got quite popular in Iceland. Especially when Icelanders where able to see them self’s in one episode as drunk Viking dressed Tourists in the Twin Peaks hotel, it was quite a popular episode.

Teaching meditation out of the financial crisis
David is here because of the bad situation Iceland is in because of the financial crisis. He is here to teach the Icelandic people the art of meditation. In his opinion if only about 1% of the population would on regular basis practice mediation it would unleash a power for the Icelandic people to get through these rough times. People don’t have to preach it on the street that meditation is the only thing for everyone just that 1% of the people will practice it. Then it would be like one streetlight in a dark alley, even thought the alley is not fully light the one light could lead the way out of the darkness. The seminar he held was quite popular with the Icelandic people and that is not strange because Icelanders are always ready to try something new.

At least it would take away the worries about money and mortgage to see a famous film director in person and maybe get his autograph.
