Iceland has a long history of participating in the Miss World pageant, sending one beautiful girl abroad to represent the country and the beauty of the Icelandic people. Iceland has won the title three times and that is quite an impressive thing you taken into account that the inhabitants of Iceland is like a medium sized town in Europe about 300.000 people.
The local beauty pageant here in Iceland take place in each county, and the first and second runner up gets to take part in Miss Iceland. This is a big issue for Icelanders and when they talk to tourists for example they say “we have the most beautiful women in the world”. This statement has become sort of a joke with time and put forth more lightly than before. However there are still people that take this really seriously and mean every word.
But still the numbers don’t lie and Iceland has won three times, so maybe it’s ok to say that Iceland has the most beautiful women.
