Terrorists in Iceland, are you joking?
6/1/09 22:51
Ever since Gordon Brown used the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act of 2001 against the people of Iceland Mr Brown and Darling have become quite popular subject in the coffee houses and workplaces of Icelanders. There are Brown and Darling jokes and funny t-shirts have been sold with them on Laugavegur the main shopping street, quite popular with the locals.

Icelanders living in the UK and others started a support group for Icelanders on the internet http://www.indefence.is/ where the main reason is to stress that Icelanders are not terrorists. There is no army in Iceland, we don’t have a lot of weapons (except for fishing) and we party a lot on weekends so we don’t have the time (who can blame us, great nightlife in Reykjavik)

Together the people of Iceland have send in postcards to the site to send Brown/Darling a message but mostly to send the world a message, that Icelanders are not terrorists.

The reason is:
  • They don’t know how to be a terrorist
  • They don’t know who to terrorize
  • They don’t have any weapons
  • They don’t know how to use weapons if we had them
  • They don’t have training fields for terrorists only for boy scouts
