Arrival at Keflavik Airport

What to expect upon arrival at Keflavik airport:

  1. security screening and customs.
  2. get your luggage - carts are free!
  3. if you drink alcohol, definitely stop at the duty free store. It's much cheaper!
  4. if you are going to Reykjavik, buy a bus ticket. The kiosk is located at the exit. The bus can take you to your hotel or to the central bus terminal (called BSI).
  5. Taxi's are available but the bus is cheaper.
  6. The ride from the airport to Reykjavik is approximately 45 minutes.
  7. If you have foreign currency, you don't have to exchange at the airport, there are banks in Reykjavik. Also, you can use credit cards everywhere.
