On Saturdays you will see Icelanders running into their supermarket´s candy-section, because on on Saturdays it is "Nammidagur", Candyday!
Because the price on loose candy is 50% off, Kids and Parents line up in front of candyheaven´s plasticboxes filled with colorful coated munch, holding on tight to their preciously to be filled little plastic-bags, the "Nammipoka". It´s fun!

One of Iceland´s favorite sweets is liquorice, it exists in thousands of variations, in combination with chocolate or even as Ice Cream! If you like liquorice you have to try it.
